If I'm that other woman I tank the playoff on purpose knowing I didn't deserve it. Maybe just crack a couple OB just to prove a point. and if I was Lexi... I wouldn't have even gone to the playoff.... I would have said I won the tournament outright so f your playoff.

100% agree this is garbage. Only officials on the course and competitors should be allowed to spot rules violations. Cameras are on her every shot...completely unjustified ruling.

One thing Lexi needs to do moving forward is to stop marking her ball from the side and start doing it doggie style from behind Seriously though, she needs to stop doing that. I noticed she did it several times yesterday even after being told about the penalty. I think that once she sees the replay of the ball mark infraction she will change that. The replay was pretty clear. She was standing sideways on the ball and when she marked it, you could not see her coin. When she placed the ball down, the coin was in full view. It was that far off. I'm sure it's because her line of sight is out of whack by standing sideways and it wasn't intentional. But doing that cost her big time. Just a change to her game she needs to make to avoid this again in the future. The incorrect card penalty will forever be a bullsht ruling in the history of golf. Good thing it wasn't a couple of years ago, it would have been a straight DQ. As fans, and scrub players ourselves, we need to keep pressing the Rules Gods to simplify the rules of this game.

Here's one thing that needs to be brought up: EVERYONE except the rules officials support Lexi. That's proof it's time for a rule change.

This was total BS and I totally agree that with the majority of the field NOT being television and every shot scrutinized, then this is unfair enforcement of the rules. Why are players on TV held to a higher standard than those not recorded? Golf is in free-fall mode and the rules are too complicated and anal. Marking of the ball and subsequent replacing of the ball should simply state that the ball may be replaced in the general area as close to the marker and not be significantly closer to the hole. There are plenty of times when you go to replace your ball there is either an impression, pitch mark, dead grass, hole punch from maintenance, or sloped green that won't allow you to place it exactly on that spot. Moving it the amount that Lexi did (on a 10" foot tap in) the amount she moved it did not give her any advantage or make the putt easier to make.
