Well, the momentum I had while sitting at -9 through 2 rounds came to an abrupt halt somewhere around hole #9 in round 3. Approximately 27 mediocre-to-miserable holes later, I managed to drop all the way back to E. Can't say I'm too bummed, even was basically my goal for the tournament and I didn't think I would really have a chance to make it there. In hindsight, I should have easily been double-digits under par, but I just didn't play very smart golf on some holes and it bit me. Had great fun though, and that's all I really care about.
International Record ('18 Ryder Cup & '19 Pres Cup): 7-0-0
Alright Dave, lets get this over with. What the, no it can't be. You're supposed to be dead. I better call Entertainment Tonight.
What on earth are you talking about? 2 Putt Shakur is alive and kicking at the Masters
Real Nice Dave, when did you become a Comedy genius? After some A-hole stuck a note on my back saying to slap my head for charity. Anyway your good friend Frosty, I mean Smiffy gave me 50 pounds so I invested in a Comedy Legends DVD. Its got everyone from Russ Abbott, Jimmy Cricket, Stan Boardman to Frank Carson and Eddie Large.
Well I wouldn't exactly put them in the Legend category, but go on lets see if you can make me laugh. Hmmmm, ok heres a good one. "Why did the ball cross over the cup"?
Is this a remake of the classic Tommy Cooper's "Spoon Jar, Jar Spoon" gag but using balls and cups? No, I found this one online when Googling for Two Balls One Cup.
I won't ask Dave, but I don't know. Why did the ball cross the cup? So Ron Duncan could record it as a glitch and e-mail it to HB.
You need some serious work on your jokes Dave. Shall we cut the BS and get to the actual reason why I'm here? Oh if you insist. How did round 1 go.......other than 2 putting a lot.
Well Dave it appears as though I've never played this version of the course before, but I was familiar with the pin locations. Didn't help much as I only made 1 birdie and 8 pars on the front 9. Very rusty at no aids and kept missing short birdie putts. Then disaster on #12, 3 putted for bogey. I hear they're going to rename the hole in your honor.
Huh? Will now be known as "Golden Bell End"
Are you looking for another slap? Had 2 more birdies for a round of -2. Happy with that after so long away. It's a good start. How did R2 go?
Had a great start Dave, 3 birdies in a row........and then I made the ultimate mistake at the 4th. Got plugged in the front bunker?
Nope, had a GIR and 4 putted from 25 feet Picked up a couple more birdies and then disaster again at the 14th. 3 putted from 7 feet this time. Birdie at 15 gave me a round of -3 so -5 after 2. Well thats halfway to Smiffy.
R3 didn't start so good, putted off the green on the 1st but managed to pull it back to -2 at the turn. Turning point was the 11th, didn't hit my approach hard enough and caught the fairway downslope shooting my ball 30+ feet pass the cup. Another 4 putt there, followed by a 3 putt on 14 again left me at E for R3 Well it was a valiant effort, did you have a comeback for the ages in R4?
Alas no, -2 thru 3, but then I had a long birdie on the 5th which I thought had a lot of break but went straight, so that turned into a 3 putt. Birdied the 8th, but the wheels came off at Amen Corner. 3 putt bogey at the 11th followed by a water ball bogey at the 12th, left me deflated. Did manage an eagle at the 13th, but I missed too many putts to pull it off. Ended up -7 for the event. It didn't really help that someone had stolen all the flags from the pins so I couldn't tell how strong the wind was. Oh, I forgot. Smiffy wanted me to give you this parcel.
What the, it's all the bloody flags. Why that good for nothing...... Woah, calm down Chris. Lets not cry on my last hoorah.
I'm sorry Dave, you know what, for old times sake lets go to the clubhouse, have a few drinks and reminisce about the good old days before you have to go back to Janice. Sure, why not. It's been lonely without you and Smiffy, even if you do make my life miserable.
Well played SMIFFYLFC79 you finally managed to beat me at the Masters
Well I was in the mix after two and not in the mix after 4! Think I 5-putted the 3rd hole in R3 and played the entire R4 without the flag on the pin which I don't suggest when it's likely 15mph winds out there! Made some pretty fun shots and had some pretty crazy putts - gotta love the Masters! Finished up 68 74 and leaving with tail tucked between legs!
Well after shooting 7 over with a 10 on 15 I came back and shot 1 over and E on Sat and Sun. Was proud of myself for hanging in there on both of those rounds. Just miss to many putts that should be made. I am a better putter in real life lol. The last round was a grind though in that wind. I did birdie 15 on the last round with a great chip off the green to about a foot. Missed eagle by about a inch or so. I did give the middle finger to the hole after it went in. I missed my birdie putt by inches on 18 for a 1 under round and that hurt.
Had a blast playing though and gl to all.
Should be a lot of fun to watch the real masters with these high winds.
Delighted with that total to be honest. Trying to win this thing 3 years running (I'm including RGT ) I was feeling the pressure! Not sure if it's going to be good enough this year? We'll have to wait and see.
I played pretty solidly throughout all four rounds really. I wasn't in trouble on too many occasions, and when I was I scrambled well. No bogies all week is something that I'm quite proud of.
Round 1 - Played decently, could have gone two or three lower, but a good start
Round 2 - Played better, gotta be happy with 61
Round 3 - A very good round, but missed two good chances on 17 and 18. 17 was one of those putts that took a peek and said "not today"
Round 4 - I thought that I played the tough wind very well for the most part. A miss from 3 feet on 3 and a missed 7 foot eagle chance on 15 are still bothering me some! Two close misses with my putts on 17 and 18 would have made me feel a lot better. 63 on that setup, with that wind is still pretty good though.
Nice shooting Ian, welcome back to TST
Good luck all still to finish

Well, since Dave returned...oh and it's Masters week...I decided to give it a "bash".
First round 71 (!!) - just kept hovering around +1, missed some close putts, but approach shots were solid. Very happy with that start.
Reality set back in for the 2nd round (74) as my putting let me down. I did fight my way back from +4, all the way to +1, but messed up on 18 where I could've had a birdie, but underplayed the break.
Overall sitting at +1 thru 2 rounds is not bad at all for me, considering I haven't played much TGC1 at all.
Nice to see you playing Matt I'm interested to see if you can catch me, 😂😂I thought course conditions were just about perfect for TST this week. At least iron shots didn't run forever when they landed. Putting was still difficult but that's what you expect on this course.
Matt10 you need to get your arse back on TST a bit more I need someone to shoot against because I sure as hell cant compete with the top guys on here. I might as well pack up till TGC2 comes out if your not playing.
