Starting Week 25: When using an exemption on the PGA Tour you just need to make the cut to earn a PGA Tour card (same as European Tour). In effect until it fills back up. Enjoy!

The Golden Gate Open was a minor PGA event played the same week as a Major/WGC event. Promotions aren't given in minor events but rather in regular weeks with a full PGA or full European field event.

Receiving a Sponsor's Exemption on the Web.com Tour
If you earn a merit based Sponsor's Exemption or the commissioner grants you an exemption you will receive an email notifying you that you have received an exemption to play in a tournament on PGA or European Tour. See the Expiration of Sponsor’s Exemption section below for details on when the exemption is usable. If you register to play in the higher level tournament, you will not play in your current tour tournament that week. You cannot earn a pro tour card during a minor event. Minor events are events that run parallel to a WGC event or a major.
You can not earn a pro tour card during the FedEx Cup or Race to Dubai playoffs.
