This is pretty much an impossible task and most likely will change an infinite amount of times while putting this list together...but here it goes (listed alphabetically).

Hmm, 5 eh? First 5 that pop in my head then!
Dead Kennedys - Halloween Why don't you take your social regulations and shove them up your ass!
Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta Heard the voices in my head, I swear to God it sounds like they're snoring.
Pixies - Nimrods Son He was the son of a mother f***er
Weezer - Hash Pipe Just put it on the jukebox!
Julian Cope - Safesurfer Would quite like this one played at my funeral.
If I answered tomorrow it would probably be completely different!
And now I'm going to add a 6th cos it also just came on the jukebox:
Nirvana - Aneurism Classic

I could probably never decide on a Top 5... or it would take me 2 days or so.
At least I can easily decide on my All-time-favorite-song:
Beside being a great song in general I just associate so many good/bad/strange feelings from my youth with that track, where Grunge was at its best and I went through an emotional roller coaster almost every day!

Can't believe Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers didn't crack a mention anywhere! I mean seriously??? I really wanted to put them on my list, but they just didn't make it. On a top 10, Free Falling would probably be 6 or 7.

@loughrey good shout with A Forest. Have you ever seen this version, before all the hair and make up and with slightly different lyrics? Quality.

This list interested me, because it is sooooo all over the place. I was not going to respond to any of these, (just enjoying the lists), but #2 on your list would be on mine, and #5 which is kind of obscure I think - I have framed lyrics of in my bedroom... (wife thing)... I do think "Cowboys Didn't Dance" was a better song by them though imo...

There are so many songs all over the history, picking only five could be hard.
A few favourites of mine, either I like them or I consider them best of the best ever
Satchmo - What a wonderful world Queen - Bohemian rhapsody The Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the devil Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven, Whole lotta love Pink Floyd - Another brick in the wall Aretha Franklin - Respect Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit Metallica - One, Master of puppets Sepultura - Roots Pantera - Cemetery gates Slayer - Raining blood Suicide Silence - You only live once Chimaira - Six The Animals and Walls of Jericho - The house of rising sun (two different covers) Korn - Freak on a leash Deftones - Back to school Hamlet - Perdóname (Spanish metal band) Lamb of god - Ruin Whitechapel - Section 8 Thy art is murder - The purest strain of hate Hora Zulú - Mis Barraqueras (Another spanish band)
I could go on and on but...
